Bikes are bikes, whether motorcycles or bicycles, with common Road Sharing issues. Some of our shared issues, concerns and observations are:
- we're all narrow vehicles
- cars/trucks often misjudge our speeds
and cut us off with little room or time for recovery
by
- turning left in front of us
- passing and turning right in front of us
- crowded off roads by wider vehicles - not allowed full use of the lanes
- treated as lesser vehicles
- affected by road hazards
- trouble tripping signals at some intersections
- people stereotype us
- legitimate road users
- visibility issues
- special clothing for bikes often needed
- special needs/equipment needed for hauling items
- theft is a problem
- lack of respect
- weather causes special handling
- wind blasts affect handling and control
- public misconceptions
- similar helmet laws
- required for minors
- under 16 for bicycles
- under 21 for motorcycles
- personal choice for adults

- advocacy organizations work for bikers rights
